INTERMEDIATES & SENIORS

A2_edited.jpg

Norwood is proud of their Intermediate and Senior teams. We foster an enjoyable yet competitive environment and strive to provide opportunities for all players.

INTERMEDIATES

Intermediates are 17&U.  In 2026, Intermediates are players born in 2009 and 2010.

In 2025, we introduced the Intermediate Pathways Squad (AMND Inter 1/2) for the upcoming 2026 winter season.

Players who have been selected as part of the pathways program, will have specialist skills sessions and some training sessions with the Premier League throughout the season. In addition, Intermediate Pathway Squad players may be selected to be part of the Premier League Rookie program, where they will have the opportunity to train with the Premier League and also have skill sessions with our Premier League Head Coach.

Intermediate Pathways Squad trials were held in late 2025. There is still an opportunity to be selected in the squad via our Intermediate Trials to be held in early 2026.

In 2026, we will also provide opportunities for Intermediate players to play at AMND and/or SADNA. Our priority is for our teams to play in the AMND competition, as it provides the best development environment for our players; however, we are also open to placing teams in the SADNA competition, which does provide a great opportunity for players to play a 2nd game during the week.

ALL intermediate-aged players are provided extra development and fitness opportunities throughout the year. We encourage all Intermediate players to strive to be their best. This age group is where the introduction into our senior and premier league programs starts.

FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Intermediate players are encouraged to trial for the Premier League Squad and pathways, including being selected as a PL Rookie Player. Premier League Rookie Players train with the Premier League squad over the year and have the opportunity to be selected to play in our Premier League Reserves team.

First-year Intermediate players may pursue further netball development through Adelaide Thunderbirds Talent Academy, and all Intermediate players are encouraged to trial for the NSA 17&U State Team. â€‹â€‹

SENIORS

Seniors are generally for players turning 18 or older in the calendar year. However, players who turn 16 before the season starts may be considered for Senior teams.

TEAM OPPORTUNITIES

AMND League (winter only)

The highest-graded league in the AMND competition, and is the Senior stepping stone to the Premier League.

A Grade (AMND/CND)

There are A-grade options in both Winter & Summer seasons. This team plays in the AMND/CND competition.

Winter AMND League/A Grade squad selection occurs in November of the year prior. The squad will start Pre-Season fitness in early January, and squad training (indoors) will begin in February. Whilst training will be predominantly on Thursday nights - there will be some Wednesday night training at St Peter's College and some round robin sessions with Premier League.

Whilst AMND League/A Grade squad trials were held in late 2025. There is still an opportunity to be selected in the squad via our Senior Trials to be held early 2026.

B Grade

Depending on players/team numbers. B Grade may play at Mile End (AMND/CND) or SADNA. This is determined on a season-by-season basis.

C Grade

More of a social team (no training) and plays at SADNA on Monday nights.

SENIOR FITNESS PROGRAM

Each season, we will look to offer a fitness program for ALL Seniors. AMND League & A Grade squad members are expected to attend the Monday night fitness program unless playing for Norwood at SADNA.
